Who Are These Guys?

Ron Leach is a noted Casting Director, Producer, award-winning Director and Acting Coach. He is currently the casting director on the hit television series Scare Tactics (in it’s fifth season with Sci-Fi Network and MTV) and just completed casting the new television series Destination Fear (for the Travel Network); and most recently cast on the films and television series: Victim; Anchor Baby, Good Times Are Killing Me, Da Kink In My Hair, Murdoch Mysteries, The Gringo and Jamie Foxx’s Untitled Comedy Project for FOX Network. He is the Producer of the acclaimed feature-length documentary film Shurtleff, on the famed author, teacher, and casting director Michael Shurtleff; and Audition, the four part instructional series on acting. Ron recently directed the short films Altarcations (winner of the eight international Awards and programmed in nineteen international film festivals to date) Shaky Grounds, Helpline and is in post-production on the dramatic short film What Is Love.

He has served as a juror for the International Emmy Awards, the Genie and Gemini Awards; the On The Fly Film Festival; and is a frequent moderator for the WildSound Script Reading Series. Ron served as President of the Board of Directors to The Canadian International Animation Festival (producing two festivals during his five year tenure); was Chairman of the Board of Directors to The Talent Representatives Association of Canada; and President of the Board of Directors to Toronto’s Dora Mavor Moore award-winning Acme Theatre Company (producing over thirty plays during his ten year tenure). He has taught his acclaimed course of acting skills for the camera at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival; Centennial College Film and Video Production Program, and The Vancouver Film School. Ron is a member of the Casting Director’s Society of Canada and The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

Brian Levy has been a leader in the Canadian casting community since 1986. Starting in the industry as an actor, Brian graduated from Vancouver’s prestigious Vancouver Playhouse Acting School. Brian work professionally as an actor before moving into a leadership role in theatre management. While working as a cultural executive in the theatre community Brian undertook many challenges culminating as one of the executive producers of Sussex Entertainment Inc.

Brian quickly established himself as an energetic and creative casting director who has been casting television commercials, feature films, television movies and series for the last twenty-five years. Most recent credits are a number of television movies for HALLMARK, SYFY-NBC, SHAFTESBURY FILMS and LIFETIME. Brian has worked with noted directors Deepa Metha, Yves Simoneau, Paul Michael Glaser, Warren Sonoda, Giles Walker, Timothy Bond, John Bradshaw, Brian McKenna, Jeff Woolnough and Mario Azzopardi to name a few. Commercial casting for production companies based in Canada, the United States and Europe on an ongoing basis. He has cast for some of the top commercial directors in the world – Henry Winkler, Bob Giraldi, Boris Damast, The Perlorian Brothers, Superfad, Harvey B. Brown, Vance Malone, Tom Schiller, David Harner, Curtis Wehrfritz, David Tennant and Jake Scott to mention a few. Name a product or service and it is likely Brian has cast a commercial for that product or service. Most recent commercial credits include ongoing campaigns for Rogers, Manulife and McDonald’s. Also spots for RBC, Tassimo, Allstate, Kraft, Nestle, Canadian Tire and General Mills to name a few.

As a teacher Brian has been presenting and producing Audition Technique and Actor Survival workshops for over fifteen years. His acclaimed workshop Breaking Away From the Pack continues to be very successful and popular among both actors and talent agents. This winter Brian has been invited to teach an Audition Technique class at Seneca College’s School of Creative Arts and Animation at York University.
